It is no longer a news that MTN has blocked the use of their BIS on PC in which many people were affected including me. However, as I was browsing with my etisalat line on Tuesday, I found a solution to the blocked MTN BIS.
I believe this will put a smile on some people's faces especially those whose MTN blackberry plans have not expired when MTN struck.
MTN BIS now works on PC with Tweakware VPN. How will you go about this? Simple!
1. Click this link to register. It is free.
2. After the registration, click here to download tweakware VPN. It does not require any installation. It is just a zip file that you only need to extract to a folder on your desktop.
3. Connect your modem that has been configured with blackberry configuration. In case you do not know how to configure your modem for this purpose, check it below:
4. On the tweakware folder on your desktop, you will see a tweakware icon there. Double click the icon.
5. Click on settings in the window that opens and type in your username and password. The one you used for tweakware registration. That's all.
Please note: You have to pay N500 monthly subscription for the tweakware VPN. You will find the names of their resellers on their website. Enjoy your browsing.

- Create a new profile with the name MTN BBC
- Use blackberry.net as the APN.
- Use *99# as Access number
- Username and password should be "web"
To Subscribe to MTN Blackberry plan
- For 1 week plan, text BBCWEEK to 21600. It costs N500
- For 1 month plan, text BBC to 21600. It costs N1,000
- For 1 month BIS plan, text BIS to 21600. It costs N1, 500
4. On the tweakware folder on your desktop, you will see a tweakware icon there. Double click the icon.

mtn bis works with vpn like tweakware, pdproxy and others it even works on android phones usinf droidvpn but i still prefer multilinks with wi-free

ReplyDeleteAre you aware that MTN has a cap on their BIS? Try to check whether you are still within the fair usage limit by sending STATUS as a text to 21600.
