How to submit your Blogspot/Blogger sitemap to Google webmaster

Google is the world's largest and most popular search engine and uncountable webpages are being indexed by Google on a regular basis. Indexing your website or blog means that your blog will be search engine optimized. This will give you a lot of traffic from the search engines.

To make Google find, index and rank your site, you need to submit your sitemap ofyour blog to Google Webmaster.
Without wasting your time with stories, I believe you have known the advantage of your blog being indexed by the world's largest search engine. So, straight to the steps.

Note: I have limited this post to blogspot/blogger blogs only.

Steps

1. Visit www.google.com/webmaster.

2. Sign in with your gmail user ID and password.

3. Google will show you the thumbnails of all your bogs. Click on the link to the blog you want to index as
    displayed.
4. Click on sitemaps

5. Click on add/test sitemaps

6. In the space provided, use http://yourblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500 as your sitemap.
The section should be replaced with your blog name.

7. Click on submit sitemap and refresh the page.

You know what? Your sitemap has just been submitted and waiting to be indexed. When you visit google webmaster later, you will find the number of indexed pages on your site.
