How to change your .blogspot.com domain to a .com domain

Blogger is a platform that gives users the opportunity to create good-looking blogs within minutes. The most interesting thing is that, unlike word press, they allow you to place advert on your site.

However, the shortfall of Blogger is that it is created on a sub-domain known as .blogspot.com. This does not make the name look professional and may reduce your site traffic so there is a need to switch to a custom domain name like dot com, dot biz, dot info, and so on.

Do you have a .blogspot.com sub-domain name that you want to change to a custom domain? Below are the steps:



  •     Buy a custom domain name from a domain name seller.
  •   Create a CNAME record. A CNAME (Canonical Name) is an entry within the Domain Name System (DNS) that specifies where a user can find your web pages or URL. This is what we are going to use to associate your custom domain with your Blogger blog.
To do this, log in to the control panel of your domain registrar’s website and locate your DNS settings. Find the field for “CNAME" and type in the name and host.
  • Next, you log in to your Blogger Dashboard and switch to the custom domain that you registered.
Next, view your blog and you will see that it has been redirected to your domain name.
You can now start enjoying your new domain name.
